What is a Health Coach and Why You Need One

A health coach is a relatively new industry that is up and coming.  We like to look at ourselves as the buffer between our client s and the medical world. For health coaches, it is about guiding clients through prevention, sustainability, self-care, and goal setting. We are there to help you figure out what your health goals are (which aren’t always involving food!) and give you the tools and the support you need to see them through. We want you to become your healthiest happiest self!

Here are a few questions you might have about health coaching and the answers that will hopefully let you see just how important a health coach could be for you:


What is a health coach?

I like to think of myself as a therapist and nutritionist in one! I have the knowledge around different dietary theories, but I have also gained the important skills of just listening to my clients and truly hearing them. I intuitively coach my clients by creating a safe and open space for them to become who they really want to be. I guide through goal setting, nurturing, and understanding.


Do I have to have a serious health issue to benefit from a health coach?

Absolutely not! In fact, we could all benefit from health coaching! Health coaching is about reaching health goals, but as Integrative Nutrition Health Coaches we know that health is not reserved for what’s on the plate. It’s your relationships, career, exercise, your spirituality, and self care.  No matter where you are on the “health scale,” sometimes just having someone else to help guide you and hold you accountable to your goals can make you go higher and further than you ever thought possible!


How do I know if a health coach is right for me?

The one piece of advice I would give you if you are considering hiring a health coach is to make sure you are ready. If you are on the fence about it, or don’t feel like you can commit to real change, you might want to take a moment, evaluate what you want, and use your intuition to guide you. You want to make sure this is the right time for you. As a health coach, I want my clients to experience the transformation and transcendence I know is possible for them to achieve. The only thing is that we can only really make a change when we are ready to do the work. How long does Health Coaching last?

Every health coach is different, but I offer two health coaching programs:

·         3 month Balanced Life Program

·         6 month Balanced Life Program

You get 2 sessions a month with me + handouts, recipes, and email support in between sessions!


But this is just one more thing I can’t afford, how can I manage this financially?

I completely understand that money can be tight, but I always come back to this: you can’t afford NOT to be healthy. When we are unhealthy, ill, unhappy, struggling, stressed out, and completely overwhelmed, NOTHING tends to work in our favor. When we get back into a harmonious rhythm with our body, mind, and spirit; everything seems to move a lot smoother. So yes, health coaching is an investment of time and money, but it is an investment worth diving into because you are beyond worth it. When you begin to crack yourself open to the possibility that there is a better way, beautiful things can happen.
